SIG Mission Statement:

To collaborate with medical schools to define competencies in specialty areas

Within the above mission, what specific objectives can best be accomplished by collaborative efforts:

  1. Collaborate to define specialty-specific competencies
  2. Survey colleges for competency and clerkship requirements
  3. Survey specialty colleges to define competencies
  4. Develop a model for faculty development to be brought to specialty colleges

Specific Goals to be Accomplished:

  1. Develop a survey for colleges to learn who has competencies
  2. Survey colleges to see clerkship requirements and insure uniformity of competencies
  3. Develop specialty college curriculum for academic support

Initial action steps to be taken:

  • Contact other specialty colleges
