SIG Mission Statement:

To share and develop information which will lead to the best and most appropriate basic science education of osteopathic medical students.

Within the above mission, what specific objectives can best be accomplished by collaborative efforts:

  • Sharing curricular ideas and experiences concerning MS1 and MS2 education.
  • Integration of basic sciences into MS3 and MS4 years.
  • Dissemination and development of a core set of learning objectives in each basic science discipline.

Specific Goals to be Accomplished:

  • Publicize the SIG and develop a roster of interested and active preclinical educators.
  • Develop a list of goals once an initial roster is developed, this list reflecting the perceived needs and goals of the SIG, not just of a few members.

Initial action steps to be taken:

  • Send a general e-mail to possible members to identify those interested and to determine perceived needs of the group members.

The member list of this SIG is not made public at this time. Please contact your AACOM Liaison if you are interested in a list for your group.
