Executive Staff

Wendy Bresler, as Vice President for Communications and Marketing, leads the organization's efforts to keep AACOM's membership informed and to communicate the value of osteopathic medical education and osteopathic medicine to potential students, the media and the general public. The department is responsible for all print and electronic communications, public relations, promotional activities, and meeting planning.

Nancy C. Cioffari, as Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, performs the financial and administrative functions of the association that in turn allow each department to focus fully on its program services for AACOM members. Responsibilities include: developing and monitoring the annual budget, maintaining the financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing investments, monitoring grants and projects, managing human resources, and overseeing office administration and internal technology.

Linda, R. Heun, PhD, as Vice President for Medical Education, works with the colleges to promote excellence in osteopathic medical education throughout the educational continuum. The office also facilitates collaboration, provides services through constituent group activities, and develops resources for osteopathic medical education professionals.

Thomas Levitan, as Vice President for Research & Application Services, leads the AACOMAS centralized application service. AACOMAS simplifies the application process for the osteopathic medical schools and allows applicants to apply to any of the participating osteopathic medical colleges via one application. AACOMAS then verifies and distributes the information to each of the colleges designated by the applicant.

Thomas Levitan also directs collection and analysis of statistical data regarding the students and faculty of the colleges of osteopathic medicine. This information is provided to the colleges, health policymakers, members of Congress and the general public.
