AACOM Urges Increased Funding for National Institutes of Health

(Oct. 7, 2008)  AACOM signed a letter to House and Senate leadership, urging that the $30.38 billion level approved earlier this year by the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) be added to the FY 2009 CR.  The letter, circulated by the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research, also advocated including in the continuing resolution an additional $500 million for NIH, as proposed in the Senate Appropriations Committee Chair’s draft of a supplemental spending bill.
