AACOM Signs Coalition Letters

(Sept. 4, 2008) AACOM recently signed two letters circulated by coalitions of health care organizations.  AACOM actively participates in several coalitions to stay abreast of developments and increase the effectiveness of its advocacy.

Coalition for Health Funding:  Letter to key members of Congress, including the Chairmen and Ranking Minority Members of the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations and Subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, urging that for an extended continuing resolution (CR), which may be offered this month, the House and Senate Subcommittee-approved funding levels be considered and that the highest level for public health agencies and programs be incorporated in the CR.

Friends of Indian Health:  Letter to members of the House urging support for H.R. 1328, the Indian Health Care Improvement Act Amendments of 2008, which would reauthorize health programs for American Indians and Alaska Natives and improve the programs’ services and facilities.
