June 2005, Vol. 2, Issue #1, pg. 25-30.

Review by: Linda Heun, Ph.D. <lheun@aacom.org>

The mini-CEX is a method for simultaneously assessing student clinical skills and providing feedback on performance. The experience last about 15 minutes and is intended to be conducted with each student on several different occasions and settings with real patients by different clinical faculty. A mini-CEX form is included which includes the evaluation categories, agreed-upon action plan, and satisfaction scales for both student and faculty.
